Transcription: Like most main houses, this one is ambivalent about the front door and the back door. The walkway from the drive comes to the corner of the house where the ground meets the bottom of the ramps. Since we're guests, we'll take the larger ramp to the more formal entrance. We could stay on the deck to bask in the morning sunshine or move into the porch to chart the progress of an autumn rain or relax in the warmth of the house on a green and white wintry day. It's as if this house is dressed in layers for changing weather.
